You're always welcome to come on all my photo trips Mark! Blount County is about 30 minutes outside of Pigeon Forge, TN. I think you were still in Florida when I did this trip. These photos were almost 2 weeks ago!

The next stop of the day turned out to be the motherlode! I never expected to find so many cool trucks inside one building (except for Tri-Community, TN of course!) When I walked up to the doors of the Friendsville, TN VFD & left noseprints on the windows, I knew I had to find someone to pull the trucks out. Since this was a tiny little town, I figured nobody would be around on a Saturday evening. I thought, hmm, it'd be nice if I had a phone number for someone from the Friendsville FD! Well, I walked over to the main door of the meeting room and look what was taped to the glass door... HAHA!!!

How nice! They left contact info for me! So, I took them up on the offer, called Carroll, and he pulled everything out for me! I wish every FD would do this!!

This was the coolest tanker I've ever seen! From what Carroll told us, this truck was an over-the-road tractor for the Department of Defense. It was totally armor-plated and had bullet-proof glass all the way around. Once the DoD decomissioned it, the Friendsville FD picked it up for a good deal. They took some of the armor plating out of it to lighten the load, then shipped it up to Wynn Fire Apparatus in Kentucky to make a tanker out of it. Look at this!!

This was an interesting find also. My first glider'ed engine! It was obvious, because notice how the top-mounted pump panel is split in half by the engine doghouse of the new Pierce Arrow cab! I searched everywhere for a job #, but all I could find was a refurb #. Not sure where this truck began life at, but hopefully some of you Ohio people will recognize it from there!

This was yet another cool find! It's not often you find bumper pumpers still in service in Eastern TN, plus this was only the 2nd Towers truck I've ever ran across! Hopefully someone knows more on the history of this amazing rig!

And lastly from Friendsville is this beast! We had to follow Carroll back to his house to shoot this one. He had it there doing some repairs on it.

From Friendsville, we headed to another local VFD in Greenback, TN. Little did we know they had 3 stations, but we found the doors up on this one! An EMS crew was there, and they made a call for us, which got a firefighter there to move some trucks around.

I got a little excited when I found this truck! I figured it might possibly be GA_Dave's old truck from College Park, GA (the one that didn't get wrecked!) or one of Chattanooga, TN's old minipumpers. However, upon a little investigation, we found a Texas inspection sticker in the window. Hmmmm, the mystery kills me...

Unfortunately, this one was down with an air leak, so it couldn't be moved. I had to do the dreaded DSS thing again!

And since Ladder 71 was down with an air leak, it blocked the bay that this truck comes out of. So I had to get a DSS shot of this engine also.

While driving through the City of Loudon, TN, we found this truck parked at a street festival. Being the opportunistic photographer that I am, I couldn't drive by a fire truck & not take a picture of it!
