Now on to the Broward County stuff. First stop there was Ft. Lauderdale Station 53. Companies at this station on the north side of Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport are 53 and 88. The Air/Light truck is Support 88, a 1996 Freightliner/Hackney.
Oakland Park's Engine 20 is a 2005 Pierce Enforcer 1500/750/30F Pumper #17094. We couldn't get the guy to understand how we wanted it posed so this is the best we could do.
Then it was on to Davie, FL Fire-Rescue Station 104. This is the only place we went where a cloud hovered over the station and wouldn't move until we were done shooting the rigs. So, here's a kinda blah looking Engine 104, a 2003 E\-One Hurricane 1250/750/25AFF/20F500 pumper #126256.
Moving along from Davie to the Seminole Tribe Fire-Rescue near Hollywood, FL we shot this 2007 E\-One Typhoon 1500/1000/30F Pumper as Engine 108, #133296.
Not a good shot, but here's a spare from Broward County Sheriff Fire-Rescue. It's well worn 1995 HME/Luverne 1500/2500 Tanker that once served the City of Weston.
Another Broward County spare is this ex-Lauderdale Lakes unit, a 1997 Southern Coach 1500 pumper that I'm guessing has about 750 gallons of water on it.
One of 3 volunteer departments still operating in Broward County is Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Their Squrt 12 is a 1994 Pierce Saber/Snorkel 1500/500/50' Telesqurt #E9469.
Nice shots Mark. I was hoping to get Hazmat 88 while we were down, but I never got a chance to get back to Station 88. The first time we stopped they got hit out for a call.
Last up is this Broward Sheriff Fire-Rescue helicopter that operates as one of the Air Rescue units. zIt is a 2002 American Eurocopter EC130, tail #N156BC.
Thanks to Alex for knowing his way around Broward County so well and knowing about half the guys we ran into. That always makes it easier.
The pictures came out great!! I'm glad we got together, hope to see you soon. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
[quote name='unMARKedCARR' post='315409' date='Jun 21 2009, 10:59 ']Yesterday, I wandered south to Broward County, FL with Alex (Firepix21) for a day of shooting in the sun. On the way, I shot a couple of other things. For your viewing pleasure, here is what we accomplished.
First up, Greenacres Public Safety in Palm Beach County just got two new Freightliner M2/Wheeled Coach rigs. Here is Rescue 94 (10).
