Scott, Info on this rig. The company really liked this engine. Bruce 1971 Mack CF-685-F12, canopy cab, 1250/500, delivered 1/26/71, and was housed 5/8/71 at a cost of $55,000, Pump #37477, chassis #1236, Maxidyne diesel engine, 672 CI, 5-speed manual transmission, and a 3.5 KW generator. The pump was rebuilt in 1981,and had a total refurb in 1982. It was involved in a crash on 12/24/97, it went through a red light at Rt. 29 & Great Valley Parkway - East Whiteland Township and was broadsided by a car. It was sent to Micro Fire Apparatus in Allentown for repairs. The repairs cost $23,000 and the company pitched in another $7,000 for a new paint job, additional diamond plate hose tray-drivers side under HS, and a new lightbar. Deemed unreliable in 2001. Sold in 04/02 to CustomTec Fire Apparatus of Canada in a deal with the 1983 Mack MC/3-D rescue, left in 04/02, resold to a private collector in southern New Jersey. [/quote] Bruce, Kevin Lee brought the rig from Alec Sprenger of Custom Tec. He still has the rig and some other apparatus. |
