Relics
Not really sure what the status of this relic was. I found it parked behind the New Market VFD in New Market, TN. They were having a big annual car show and celebration, thus the wooden table leaned up on the front of the truck. Just on the other side of this rig was quite the yard sale going on!

This was a participant of the car show for New Market's celebration. Not sure whether it's still in service or not.

This one isn't really a relic either. A man moved to Dandridge, TN and brought this fire truck with him. It was from his hometown in Franklin Township, Indiana. He didn't have much use for it, so he donated it to the Dandridge Fire Dept. According to the Chief, they hope to do some refurb work on this truck and start taking it on brush fires.

Thanks for the info!

I made a trip down to my home town of Boykins, Va about a week ago, and while there, I slipped across the state line into NC, and rode down to Severn. The present fire station is just inside town on N.C. rt 35, and I spotted this old Ford/Bean sitting in the shade next to the building.

Ford/FMC 1000/?? (I'm willing to bet 500. Tank doesn't look quite tall enough for 750.

Interesting that it has 'Lollypop' rear warning lights rather than beacons...something that's very uncommon from my personal experience. Something else interesting, especially for a rig with John Bean linage. No booster reel.

The rig seemed to be in good shape, but an out-of-service notice on the drivers window listed the date she went OOS as mid 2007.

Here's a relic headed to a new home! This truck has recently been acquired by Gudger, TN as a 2nd engine for their agency. I was in the process of getting this truck posed when the firefighter on duty for Madisonville had to jump in Engine 3 and speed away for a wreck which ended up requiring a landing zone. Oh well, at least I got A picture of this truck!
