They alway's claimed that there was no room for it in the museum, and that's why it was disposed of.

In 1977, the original Satellites were rebuilt by Com Coach with fiberglass bodies, Here's Sat-2 (Bronx)after the rebuild................

The Maxi-Water System took up where the Super-Pumper left off, Compromised of 6 2000gpm pumpers, quartered with a satellite hose wagon, as follows:
E-9/Sat-1(Manhattan)
E-72/Sat-2(Bronx)
E-330/Sat-3(Brooklyn)-replaced by E-284/Sat-3(Brooklyn)
E-324/Sat-4(Queens)
E-159/Sat-5(StatenIsland)
and the "lead" unit, E-207/Maxi-Water Unit (Brooklyn)

Engine-72 (Sat-2) 1979 Mack 2000gpm pumper #MP-7975, E-72 always customized their rigs with ALOT of warning lights, etc.
Engine-159(Sat-5) 1979 rig, #MP-7971 :The older 2000gpm pumpers were identified by the white hosebed covers.

Engine-72's 1988 Mack/Ward 79 2000gpm pumper #MP-8819, a common sight at all Bronx/Upper Manhattan multiple alarms, ran into this rig many times while buffing- it was a monster engine !

A senior member of 72 Engine was the one who would customize their rigs with all the lights. I believe he did his whole career in 72 and just retired about a year or so ago. Did close to 40 years on the job.
