OK heres a doozy of a question.. Anyone out in the midwest know anyone that received a 1982 Hahn topmount pumper from the east coast around january 2002???? My Dept. traded the vehicle in, I saw it online and contacted the dealer to see where it was sold to. All he said was the midwest (warthog country??) I work for a police dept. and even tried to run the vin# nationwide with no luck. Anyone have any clues?

Hi Frank,

Curious about the Bethany Beach GMC/Hahn. About 12 years ago, while vacationing in Bethany Beach, I found this GMC serving as a sign holder for a townhouse complex.

Are the photos you posted recent? I am hoping so.

Avondale Fire company owned 3 Hahn trucks, plus on that Hahn mounted a pump on the chassis.

These two Hahn custom pumpers , a 1981 1500gpm Hale 1000gwt and a 1983 1250-750 (84 cab, not like the one above)

Two unusual Hahn trucks,a 1966 Chevy tandem tanker truck,750gpm, tank size?

and a truck I had a hard time finding a photo of, a 1974 1000gpm 500gwt International 1700 (?)

It looks like a new back on the 1974 truck, see builder name on upper front cabnets

Washington DC placed the largest order for Hahn Fire apparatus. A total of 25 rigs were ordered

10 1980 Hahn pumpers 1250gpm 500gwt

4 1981 1250-500 plus 1 100' LTI tiller

3 1982 1250-500 plus 1 106 Fire Spire tiller

5 1983 1250-500 plus 1 106' Fire Spire aerial

The 1983 models can be identified by the extended jumpseat area, (84/92 cab)

The other models had minor differences, I still don't know what year's were what by Photos.

Varrious photos from onknown sources, some from Mark Baker

L-4 & L-6 were the fire spires. L-9 was the Hahn-LTI.

IIRC, L-14 was given old L-6 when they received an E-1 135' aerial, and the 135' was later sent to L-3 after they wrecked their 110' E-1 in a collision with L-4 and their 135' E-1 on a Spartan. L-3 was rebuilt later and give to L-8, the E-1/Spartan was totalled.

E-6,10,12 received the 1983 Hahns.

during the fiscal fustercluck of the 90's, these old hahns saved the DCFD. Held together with bubble gum and bailing wire (and a coat hanger now and then... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> ), these rigs took a beating and kept going, even when the newer, but crappy Ford/E-1's were falling apart.

E-11's Hahn as posted was rebuilt after E-32's icy road incident. Chauffeur walked away, IIRC.

E-32 was known as the "Over the hill gang" for obvious reasons after that incident.

And IIRC, for some reason this flipped over Hahn ran like a raped ape. I think is was the best running Hahn DC had. It hauled a$$. They (E-11) hated to see it go.

Like a Hahn held with Bailing wire and bubble gum, and better than that Ferrara you got stuck driving. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

Then Hahns did the trick. And this coming from a Mack Man. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
