I believe that one is now privately owned in the Montrose PA area. About 2 years ago while visiting my aunt in that town we found it parked by the firehouse of United Fire Company. I did get a shot and uploaded it to the hard drive but unfortunately that PC crashed and I lost it before I could post it.

The rig was actually a 1927 Mack AB5A city service truck. It was refurbished by Hahn - if the info is accurate - in 1935. The rig is pictured new in Harvey Eckart's Mack Fire Trucks on p.22.

The rig carried 8 ladders for a total length of 188' It also carried 400' of 2.5", 450' of 1.5", and 300' of 3/4" booster. I don't believe that it had a pump per se, however I think part of the Hahn refurb was removal of the original chemical tank and the installation of a booster pump. It did have a 100 gallon booster tank.

Thanks for posting the pics...

This truck was sold to three brothers who worked for Bell Telephone in around 1967 when Yorkville Hose received their new Maxim Quad. This truck saw a lot of fires in it's time'last big fire it was at was a house fire on Mahantongo Street in Pottsville. My dad drove it down in back of the house and pumped it for hours. I think it was sold to a fire company around New Orleans.

Laureldale PA Central Fire Co #1 Berks County station 13

1927 Hahn #6210

some information from Laureldales web site

In January 1927 a 450 gallon Hahn Pumper truck was purchased at a cost approximating $5,100.00. This fire apparatus was rebuilt in 1938 at a cost of $2,050.00. Unfortunately the truck was in an accident a few months latter at Fifth Street Highway and Bellevue Avenues and was so heavily damaged that a new 500 gallon Hahn triple combination pumper was purchased to replace it. No one was seriously hurt in the accident.

well, the last of the Delaware Hahn's

Wilmington DE with a total of 5 Hahns.

This is a photo of what I belive is the 1946 Hahn #6470-P (I am not sure)

Records show that the Hahn was later refirbed with a Chicago style cab.

This is unconfirmed, no one seams to know for sure.

I have seen no photos of this

What is a Chicago style cab? Do they mean Cincinatti cab?

This photo was from the D Adelman B Schwartz collection.

If any one can help with information or photo of the 46 Hahn please contact me! [Image: unsure.gif]

Chicago Cab was builder of truck cabs and fenders found on minor builders like Sanford,Ward Lafrance, Brockway and I am sure a few others.

I am looking for more information on the following unit. This is X-Pond Hill - NEE-Wilkes Barre Twp, PA - E-2.

Built 1/1976

Serial #HCP126107620

GPM 1000 (?)

GWT 500 (?)

I really would like to find pics of this unit when it first went in service or from its first few years in service. The Hahn factory PIC would be awesome.

I am really interested in getting four questions answered.

#1: Was the porta tank original equipment or did it have hard suction hose trays?

#2: Was the original siren a Q2B or was that added at a later date? If added later what was the original siren?

#3: What types of lights was it originally equiped with (By the hose reel - missing in this photo but can be found on either of the two links below.)

#4: What brand of paint did Hahn use? I would like to color match it, I have the code but need to original mfg name.

I took this PIC of the unit on the day we purchased it. Sorry for the quality but due to a flat tire it was not able to be moved. It is in running condition and only has the flat tire to be repaired. She will head west in the spring and be painted into fresh orange & white.
