Those CF's we had were the bomb. We couldnt kill them. They went to auction after the first batch of Freightliner junks went into service. Like what was said before it was originally deliverd to Engine 10. Then rebuilt by our shops. Baltimore County had 7 Macks that ranged from 1972-1977, plus a bunch of C models. WE LOVED THEM

Don't forget Engine 3, which was a 1970 Mack CF. Originally slated to go in service as Engine 8 in Fullerton, but sent to Engine 3 when their 800 series ALF(Might have been a 700, have to check my records) was totaled when struck on the beltway while extinguishing an auto fire.

I found this just outside the perimeter of Donaldson Center, SC amidst a dozen or so other used hummers. It had a tag hanging from the rearview mirror telling the radio channels for the radio that was installed in the vehicle. It mentioned "EVERcity" and had frequencies for EVER Alpha, EVER Bravo, EVER Charlie, etc. It also mentioned a radio channel that they used when they responded to "Dade Corners." All the frequencies were in the 170mHz range. Does anyone have any idea what EVER is?

It was a 700 series. Oddly enough, the rig was struck on the drivers side right where the pump panel would have been if it had been any piece other than a 700 series. Had the pump operator been standing there he would have been struck also.

That's right. I remember when Violetville bought one of the old 700 series ALF's from the county (ex-E41 and ex-Woodstock College engine) the also aquired E-3's old ALF for parts. It sat out behind their station for years.

This one was found in Yaupon Beach,NC at an auto repair shop. It was stripped down of all tools and hose, so I'm assuming it is no longer owned by YBVFD.

Maybe you guys can help me out with this one...

A guy stopped by the station today driving a 1970's Mack CF600 75' Squrt. He said it was originally in-service up in PA, but he purchased it off ebay a little while ago. I was able to get the VIN off the new Mack plate (CF686FCS 1047), and I do know the truck was re-furbished by Pierce in 1993.

And I am going to go ahead and assume the paint scheme was applied after he purchased it...

Thanks in advance.

Brodbeck,

He purchased it from the Forest Fire Co., located in Kimbles, PA. Before that it served in Ct. It was White/Red when he got it. I'll have to put that on my hit list for Florida in March. lol

At first I thought it was Old Saybrook, CT, but I believe it was originally Allingtown Fire Department, in West Haven, CT. Will try and verify over the next day or so.

Originally from Allingtown Fire District in West Haven, CT. Saw this rig almost everyday driving down Orange Ave. when I went to the Univ. of New Haven back in '96-'99. Sorry to see it's gotten such an AWFUL paintjob! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Thumbsdown' />

Broderick, was that picture taken recently or back at the date on the photo itself? It would be nice to know if they have more interesting stuff like that.
