We don't have hose beds, but we do run some 38mm and 50mm lines flaked in trays, with TFT branches ready to go, also some 64mm hose for supply. Otherwise everything else is in dutch rolls like the Europeans, we are tending to lean more towards the british way of doing things, as that is where our first settlers came from and they brought their techniques and construction methods with them. but having said that we have a lot of American influence in the bodies, with mostly mid mount pumps...[/quote]

Well our largest Urban Brigade (~5th largest in the world) being Fire & Rescue NSW, formerly NSW Fire Brigade having only rear mount and the NSW Rural Fire Service (Largest Fire service in the world) has also 99% rear mounts.

Here is a "light attack" appliance from the Queensland Fire & Rescue Service (QFRS). This one is used by senior officers that aren't assigned to a standard appliance.

The main use is for initial attack of a grass fire. The frame over is used to hold a rubber dingy used during the wet season for swift water rescues.
