Harrisonburg VA ALF 700 engine

Even though these two rigs served in the same city, they are from different departments. The ladder belonged to the City of Harrisonburg FD. Hose Company #4 is a separate entity, eventually becoming Rockingham County Station 40.

Frank B,

I thought you might like to see Ridgeway's engine today. I was in Henry County recently, and had the opportunity to photograph all of Ridgeway's apparatus including their antique. They had just completed a refurb in April. She looks as good as she did, maybe better, in the delivery photos!!!

And, as usual, I have trouble getting my photos to work. Last try.

Does anyone know the status of Alexandria's two white/lime 1986 Seagraves tractor drawn ladders? I know one was up for auction, but I'm not sure which one, or if the other one is gone, for sale, or still in reserve.

Thanks - Jerry

I haven't heard anything new Jerry. I will be out in October for my two weeks in the fall. I will check for you.

Frank, awesome shots of the older rides..

I remember Suffolk having that rig, back when i was just a young'un...saw it running emerrgency a couple of times when we were in Suffolk for something (That falls under the 'If I had only had a camera and known what i know now' category.

Arond '65 or '66 the Norfolk 900 series TDA (or one of her sisters) was the lead shot on a news report of a fire call ..it was a oil leak burning in a ditch, don't remember where or many details, but I remember the anchor saying that the fire looked far more spectacular than it actually was, and the shot of the rig responding in, running code, from the front left. And, it being 'Back In The Day, there were (If I remember correctly) a couple of the guys riding the side step of the trailer.

The pics of old Richmond 3 Truck are just sad...i wanted to cry. That was such a beautiful. classic old rig.

I've only seen pics of her when she was in service (Thanks John)...wish i could have seen her in person.

Engine 1 to all units, we've got a glow in the sky!
