second time around FDNY Mack
Jimmy,

When u get it done, Are u making a trip to 13th Street, NW??? And are u going to turn momma over to drive it also? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Banghead' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' />
Well, if I bring it down South, it's gonna take a month. It's governed for 45-47 mph. try to keep count of the number of 'one fingered hi signs' I'll get on the NJ Turnpike. One of my goals is to regear it for highway, if feasable. When I get back from Florida (leaving today), i'm going to head there and TRY (key word) to do some work myself, to actually learn, and even get some self satisfaction for doing it.

Any questions or problems I may encounter, my pals at Nassau Fire will walk me through it.

But they are in for a surprise. Giving me a tool to fix fire apparatus is like giving Stevie Wonder the keys to your car..... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

They will find out the hard way. Will be interesting to say the least.

Keep ya posted.

Stay safe, Brothers.

After all this time, I can report that it is finally almost road ready. It still needs to have body work done, which will be hopefully done soon. I was offered a position in regional sales for the Genesis Extrication Tool set. Going to be a unique setup on my days off from the FD, because I couldn't sell you a life jacket on the Titanic...

So any sales commission I do get, I can work off the repairs in trade. A rebuilt alternator set us back $800, and some more work to go. The Q2B needs a new motor, so I may get that rebuilt and then sell it for a few bucks (as everyone's ears perk up hearing Q2B for sale... lol)

My pal owns 3 businesses (Ambo/ fire engine sales, ambo/ fire repairs, and a collision shop that does anything {look for thread with slow day with camera...lol}), so having him redo my rig will be a drivable advertisement as well. Already worked out a deal with that.

So it is FINALLY moving along.

HOWEVER, I still need some parts. Seems Mr Taylor changed his mind. Any of the Allentown area Brothers know if that guy on 309 still has the old FD NY rigs? So if anyone can help, here's what I need?

1) Federal twinsonic lightbar with clear lenses, single rotator and 2 rectangular red flashers next to siren speaker on light bar.

2) 3 piece typical FD NY red bumper (Some pics are on here under FD NY).

3) The lights on top (little amber flashers) and large red lights UNDER the canopy on rear cover.

4) Spotlights UNDER canopy cover. However, does anyone have pics of the rear of the CF Macks back then? Can't recall if spotlights were original or added by vollies I bought from. I tend to think they were original.

Wish I could do all this work myself, but I can barely change my oil in my car.. And my "Ed Garvin, male prostitute" days are long gone (as those who remember this show their age....lol)

And if some of these parts can be found, maybe I can trade a Q for them..

Thanks in advance. Stay safe, Brothers.

I have heard that he cleaned house and no longer has any of the old CF's. Even the old trash truck/saulsbury Rescue 4 is apparently gone. I will double check though.

If you go to the place, let me know. 5 miles from the house, I can help you unbolt stuff and then we can "inspect" the brand new sports bar across the street.

As I was driving past this AM, I didn't see the lightbar.....Granted it was at 60MPH and there was another truck in front of the ALF, but I could swear I didn't see a lightbar.

Ok Gents, I got out of work a bit early today, so on my way home, I thought "Hey I should stop in at that place and check out that ALF." So here ya go.......

The piece is FDNY Shop number AO8033. You can see in the pics that it was obviously assigned to 231, and possibly later as 235 (on the passenger side jump seat door below the logo.)

The truck is owned by Bernie Enterprises, the same guy who has the other junkyard.

This piece is amazingly intact. Look at the pics- you can see the lightbar is there, the single rotator over the rear canopy cover is there, the bars for the wagon cover are all there.....Due to high weeds and critters of the flying stinging variety, I couldn't get around back. I would recommend that if you want stuff off it, you should call Rusty at Bernie Enterprises, talk to him and if he agrees, come back when it is colder (flying insects of the stinging variety will be dead, the little douchebags!)
