Any idea how long they've had this one? Rome only had it for a few years when it tipped over due to structural failure of one of the outriggers. Sutphen took it back and replaced it with a new one. I've always wondered where it went after that.



The Rome FD operates 8 Engines, 2 Quints and one Tower, all Sutphen, plus a heavy rescue, from ten stations, covering all of Floyd County except the City of Cave Spring. With the exception of the various rescues, they have purchased only one brand since 1982.

Dave, I believe it was last November they received it. It replaced the Mack R-Model Snorkle. The Snorkle was bought by Everson V.F.D. in Fayette County a short distance from Mt. Pleasant.

It was great to shoot 3 rigs from Maryland!

Smock has had the Hahn since 2000, it doesn't go out 100's of times a year, it's been well-maintained, and Smock has managed to keep it out of the ditch... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_lalala.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Icon_lalala' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' /> Do you know that MAVFD almost voted for a Pierce Lance back in 89!

Also, the 76 Seagrave at Smock served many years at Morrell VFC in Fayette Co. The 79 Dodge/Pierce at Newell originally was at Crafton,PA, and then D-L-V(Dickerson,Liberty, and Vanderbilt Boros) VFD in Fayette County.
