Am I correct that the volunteer companies protect the Town of Binghamton while the City of Binghamton has a career fire department or at least mostly career?

The former home town of Saulsbury doesn't get their new engine from E One that bought out their local manufacturer?

You are correct. The City of Binghamton FD is a career department with 130 members. They operate out of 6 stations, running 3 engines, 3 quints and a tower ladder, along with various EMS and support vehicles. The city population is around 47,000.

The City is surrounded by several volunteer and career departments that protect the metropolitan area outside the City limits. The Greater Binghamton region has a population of about 250,000.
