T16 was going on an apartment fire. While going through the complex, made a turn and hit the side of an apartment building with the platform. The section of ladder at CATC was donated to MFD when we built the new training center.
Hugh, the section of ladder at the training center is the old bed section off of T-7. They had to replace it several years ago when a power line fell across the ladder as we were pulling up to a rescue call. That would have been a nice picture to have. It looked like the the 4th of July as it was arcing. It laid out behind App. Maint. for a long time until they put it up out there.

Well, true to my past, I have arrived in Memphs, and see no fire. I have gotten some apparatus shots, and an MVA that's over in fire scene, but no fire. Here's the apparatus. First up Engine 16

Made a quick business trip to Hernando, MS this week. Had an opportunity to shoot some Memphis-area rigs.

Bartlett, TN

This rig will go into service when the new Station 5 opens later this year.

Our next stop was Memphis Station 59...

Memphis, TN

Engine 59

2005 E\-One Cyclone

1500/500

s/n 130055

This was one of six identical pumpers delivered to the MFD last year. The other five are at E5, E7, E8, E14, and E36. With the exception of the 1990 Pierce Tele-squrt (E54), these were the first pumpers delivered to Memphis since the twenty 1976 American LaFrance engines with 500-gallon booster tanks. All other front-line engines in Memphis (except E54) have 750-gallon tanks.

There were originally nine of these engines ordered and built, but budget shortfalls caused the city to cancel three of them.

Our next stop was Lakeland Station 1. The town of Lakeland owns the station, but it is manned by the Shelby County Fire Deparment.

Shelby County, TN

Engine 65

1996 Spartan/Smeal

1500/400/30/75'

s/n 79340

SCFD actually has two of these rigs. The other is at Station 66.
