News just in the last produced Pierce Dash was just delivered to Conrad Fire Equipment in Olathe, Kansas. It is a white over red 105ft Dash Quint for Southern Platte Fire Protection District Truck Company 23 at FH 3 (South Platte) in Parkville, Missouri near KCI airport. South Platte and Conrad told me this months ago when the rig was purchased. South Platte insisted on a Dash cab not a Velocity or Arrow. This unit will place the 1999 Sutphen 70ft Mini Tower Ladder 23 in reserve. Me or Eng61ine will obtain photos to post. Just wanted to pass the info along.

Stay Safe,

Rick

Wow Great job Steve, Thanks so much. This must have been written prior to the new 1989 75ft Sutphen Quint 10.

The two 1966 open top 70th Annv. Seagraves # 90, 93 still exist and are on the roster. I remember in 1993 one of them filling in at Pumper 12. I did a double take and stopped to admire the classic rig. Both had special shop built jump seats added in the late 1980's when the tail boarding stopped. They also had the Q siren and classic red MARS light on top of the nose with two Federal Pipe lights. The Ward LaFrance #91 was just like Engine 51 except no Q siren it went to Mexico. The Reserve Haz-Mat was a converted IH-Central pumper from the Shawnee TWP fire department annexaion in the late 1960's. It was convered in the 1970's to Haz-Mat. KCK had the first Haz-Mat in the metro if not the nation. It entered service in 1977 or 1978 as Haz-Mat.

Stay safe, Rick
