Hahaha, we ended up dumping 2.5 loads of water. I think it went pretty well for where it was...

Stickney Hose Company - Nanticoke, Luzerne County, PA

American LaFrance 900

I believe the event I took this picture at (6 County Parade in 2006) was the last event Stickney attended. Reading back through the board I believe it was donated to Newport Township.

What is the reason for the memorial bunting? Since it is mentioned that this "was the last event Stickney attended" was the company disbanded and thus the reason to treat it like a funeral?

it was the last time stickney had the engine. the city sold the fire house & stickney gave the engine to neighboting newport twp instead of to the city who pulled the carpet out from underneath them. the city assumed stickney would give the engine to the city but actually out smarted them. washington #5 who also had same thing done to them sold their ex-livingston nj 1979 american lafrance to rescue hose co in ashley pa before the city also got their hands on that. the city always owned the apparatus/stations with the exception of honey pot #6. the main station in the city has paid driver/firefighters on duty & had it in contract the volunteers could not respond their apparatus untill called for or if call was in their first due area
