Can anyone provide info on this rig ? It says FDNY Crash Unit 31 on it.
Brian, from Wheels of the Bravest, in the 1946 section it says that the FDNY purchased two Mack/Brockway Class 155 crash rigs to help provide coverage at La Guardia. They were delivered in olive drab paint, then repainted red by the shops. Same photo appears in the book.
Before it went to Wall it was owned by Lake Carmel, NY. I think there is a shot of it in the "Muster 125" book. I missed it in Wall by 3 weeks in 2004.
It was the telesquirt, a 1970 that Wall purchased. It had the squared off CF canopy cab that was on the Mack aerialscopes. Wall donated the telesquirt to Lytle, Texas on March 15, 2004.
Here are some unit's from the 13th Batt in Manhattan (Washington Heights) NYPH and CUMC held a drill for area unit's at the campus.
