Good story Code20, puts a perspective on visiting WTC for people that haven't been there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, nice shots of 10 Truck too!

I agree Code 20 very very touching. I've been to the World Trade Center twice before the attacks. Once just outside, and once up on the 80th floor or thereabouts. After the attacks, I returned a few months afterwards, with rubble still everywhere. I also went back about a year later, and met with the men from 10 house. They were excellent guys to talk to. I appreciate another side to the grounds there. Every time someone tells me about their experiences there, it gives me a greater appreication of that area. Thanks.

Great pics, two questions from a guy 2/3 of the way across the continent.

1. What are the two globe-like things on the roof of the Safety Battalion? GPS/satellite receivers (or possibly transmitters)? Sending video from a scene to somewhere else?

2. Somewhere about 5 pages back is a photo of a straight truck running as Collapse Rescue 3. What happened to the tractor drawn beverage-delivery-style trailer?

Again, good pics and thanks for sharing. Is there a 50 Engine still? Be fun to have "my" station here represented <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Those pod like devices on the safety battalion are satellite recievers. Theres also one on the Ferrara Haz Mat, make/brand unknown.
People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?

Yes, Engine 50 is alive and well.
Kill 'em all, let Allah sort 'em out. NEVER forget 9/11/01 WTC, Pentagon, Pa. Avenge the acts with NO mercy.

Thanks to ALL the Brothers who were there 9/11/01 and afterwards. Words can never say what appreciation we have for you all.

Hey, I think Jay911 is asking about the collapse pods. They are carried on the "pod carrier".

Talking about Collapse Rescue 3, is it still the city wide collapse unit?

Nope, I meant this one:

Thanks for the clarifications on the other stuff too. I presume the satellite receivers are for computer networking? That's what I'd figure a hazmat unit would most benefit from - MSDS/WHMIS/CHEMTREC etc stuff.
