1965 Amer La Fr, 900 series Metropolitan, canopy cab, 1000/500, $33,000, numeral 4 on cab side between windows, homemade windshield at rear step, in 1977 pump froze and bottom fell out-new pump-diesel motor and auto transmission installed, in 1978 and 1983 offered for sale, in 1985 sold to local construction co., housed 7-10-65

1954 Amer LaFr, 775-PJO Invader, semi-cab, 750/300, delvd 1-13-54 to the collegeville FC (Montgomery County, PA), in service 2-54, reg.no.L-4927, shipped 1-15-54, $16,000, in 7-63 sold to Perkiomen Twp.(Montgomery Co.),PA for $8475, in 1985 donated to new co.-Black Forest F.C.-Slate Run (Lycoming Co.),PA where rehabed in 1985-re-painted green ”bear” logo placed on cab doors, in 1986 cab enclosure added, in 1988 sold to Charlie Schrimpf-Dayton,O., in 1998 Schrimpf presented 3x4 ft color photograph of this truck-his pride and joy-to Black Forest FC when they dedicated their first station-see PAFM 11-98 pg 124

1955 American LaFrance, 700 series, semi-cab, 750/150, high pressure fog & wet water proportioner, lettered Bureau of Fire on cab doors, originally ordered by Pittsburgh, PA, unable to pay for the whole order, purchased by East Lansdowne for $9,000. Repainted orange at some time from all red.

Back in 1983, the first of 3 years that we attended the annual Tunxis Hose Company parade in Unionville, Town of Farmington, Connecticut, there was a fairly new ALF from Fishkill very similar to this one if not the same engine that had to be flatbedded back home about 80 miles because the transmission went upon arrival in town.
