A Ford F engine, I don't think this was a Mack. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Icon_crazy' />

What an insult to Mack! Whoever did this needs to be bitch-slapped!

I came upon this old truck in Florida on S/R 520 near the Orlando Speed World.

Was this a fire apparatus before or just an utility truck with a TCM cab ?

maybe not yet a 'relic' , but it has sat out of service for the three and a half years I have been a member. Supposedly has a blown clutch/transmission problems it has sat at our Station 2 unused. There has been talk of buying a replacement, once our new rescue is up and running. 1988 Ford F250 300/200

The latest that could be is a 1986. 1987 they went to the new headlight style.

Hard to beleive they can't (or won't) find parts for it. Doesn't look in too bad of shape, IMO.

Stay safe, Brothers.
Kill 'em all, let Allah sort 'em out. NEVER forget 9/11/01 WTC, Pentagon, Pa. Avenge the acts with NO mercy.

Thanks to ALL the Brothers who were there 9/11/01 and afterwards. Words can never say what appreciation we have for you all.

Eric,

Funny, I caught this one on a used car lot on 125 yesterday. In Brentwood, maybe? There was also a pair of old Cataldo ambulances on another lot a mile or two further north.

Two pumps, a ladder, and a pair of ambulances. I could equip a whole small department just by driving up 125. . .

This one certainly qualifies for a "sad end". Utica NY Engine 1, a 1982 1500/500 ALF has been recently retired and torn apart. The remains were recently offered for sale on Ebay, last bid I noticed was $850.00+/-. I think the listing said that the drive train was missing, too. I would say that Utica got their money's worth out of this one.

Eric that is Dover's old E-4, they donated it to the Interstate Emergency Unit's (our mutual-aid association)Fire School which is located just around the corner from where you snapped this pic, behind the County Complex on North Rd in Brentwood, NH. It's twin (former E-5) was traded to Smeal if memory serves me right. They both had 1250 gpm pumps and 500 gallon booster tanks. this truck ran out of Dover's South End Station on Rt-108 for it's entire career and was finally retired when Dover got the 55ft Smeal quint that runs as E-4 now. The two Macks replaced two older Maxims from the late 40's / early 50's.
