Peabody Engine 5 - 2009 KME Severe Service 1500/750/50F - Covering Beverly's Central Station during the Manor rd. 2nd alarm on 5/17/10. I think this is the first time I have seen Engine 5 covering in Beverly.

This unit was a demo and that is why it is solid red and not Red/White like the other Peobody units.

Good looking engine. We were in the running to get that same engine but they got approval for it before we did. Allegedly, we're getting a Sutphen demo in July, but I don't have any more details on that.

No E5 was a Severe Service Pumper Demo that Peobody bought becuase of Mech issues with some of the current fleet. It is made buy the same Company KME as E7 but has a diffrent body as E7 was bult from PFD specs. I hopw this helps but I am sure Mike will be able to help with more detail.

Mind if I share with some folks from the North Adams area?

Also hunting around the NAFD website there are some shots of this rig "on scene"

Feel free to share the photos. If they use them in print or other medium, be sure they know where they came from.

Thanks for the link.
