I don't normally take photos of boxes but I have been at Medical City in Dallas the last few days taking care of my Grandfather. So I have taken a few shots of the DFD units. I really like that Dallas Fire Department started in the early 2000's painting the units red after many years of white with red strip. Also I much prefer the Dallas low profile box with a pick-up cab and push bumper. Dallas Fire Department controlled the Ambulance before many fire departments even thought of running first aid or ambulances. Lindsey I have your 17's shirt but I left KC in a hurry, I will bring it next time <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

While the ICU was closed I picked up a north Dallas job. When I get home I will post the fire photos. Gotta love twitter.
Dallas Fire Department Truck 41 ???? Simon-Duplex/ LTI 75ft ladder Its so refreshing to see a dry ladder truck with a true complement of ground ladders.

It is a 1989 year model, & the driver told me it is an 85' stick. (see page 7 of this thread). I will also hold a good thought for you and your grandfather. Lindsay D Richardson, TX

Lindsay D Richardson, TX [/quote] Its a 75' aerial. All of Dallas' midmount ladders from that era were 75-footers. I dont know of any 85-footers unless they were from back in the 60's or earlier.

For those of you that are interested, all of the new Spartan Gladiator/Crimson pumpers that have been placed into service recently are 2009 models. They were completed during December, 2009. Even though they werent delivered until after the first of the year, they are considered 2009 models. However, they were titled as 2008 models, I suppose because that's when they were ordered. When determining the correct year model on apparatus, go by the manuafacturer's plate in the cab, if it can be located. Also, these Dallas pumpers have 1500 gpm pumps, a change from years of specifying 1250 gpm pumps on pumpers.
