South Bend, IN House Fire 10-9-13

Engines 9, 8, 3, 1 (FAST) Quint 3, Res1cue, Battalion 102, Safety 116, Medic 2 and EMS Commander 1660 were dispatched to a vacant house fire at 1026 S Clover Street, to find heavy fire conditions on the 2nd floor of this 2 story frame house.

Im going to guess that since south bend has 2 rosenbauer engines on order they got a demo to use so they could send out engine 1 2003 Pierce enforcer to get a refurb before being reassigned. If i had to guess it went to RPI.

I believe you are correct, because I did see it reassigned as Engine 3 at this fire.

I'm guessing that Rosenbauer was the low bid this time, since South Bend has bought Pierce apparatus for several years???

I dont see them buying Pierce anymore. The new quint 1 has been nothing but problems and has returned to Pierce several times. The guys say its a real shop queen. The torque box has developed cracks.
