Enchanted Circle - NM
#1
The Enchanted Circle is a 83 mile loop up in Northern New Mexico. It centers around Wheeler Peak (the highest point in the state) and encompasses the most popular ski resorts in the state. Unfortunately while visiting this area it decided to start raining and at times it was heavy enough that I was standing around in the bay waiting for it to stop.

Since we started in Taos I will start with their apparatus first.

Taos STR12

2012 Pierce Saber

This truck was originally a 1989 Pierce Arrow and underwent a Rehab in 2008 where it recieved a new box. In 2012 that new box was taken off the Arrow chassis and placed on the Saber chassis.

The last piece we captured was a medic unit. Got a opportunity on the way back to Albuquerque to catch up with two different stations in Santa Fe County that have been eluding me, but I will save those for later and a different thread..

I believe the Angel Fire Workstar is the first I've seen where the Workstar logo is on the bottom of the cab, under the door. Also interesting that Taos still has all of the "Built with Pride" window decals on their rigs, even the 97'!

I asked them about that very thing (was a bit odd) and no one really knew why..

I've seen the "WorkStar" logos shipped loose from International to the OEM, and sometimes they're stuck in different places by either the customer or the OEM (or in my case, in my office on a wall plaque).

or the trash can at the OEM......... I have several different commercial chassis logos acquired from the "circular file"....
Mechanical engineers build weapons, whereas civil engineers build targets.

When the man at the door said," Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms", I, naturally assumed it was a delivery!

I was just looking through my Pierce database and was about to request confirmation when that confirmation showed up in my inbox (Thanks Bill).

This truck previously served in Delray Beach, FL. Anyone have a photo of it from its time there?
