I waited until today to post my Engine back in the members area. My plan was to take some new shots of the Engine before, during and after the 4th Parade.
Here is some info again on my Engine, 1974 Ward LaFrance, refurbed in 87 by Young, 1250 pump, 600gal tank, Detroit automatic. One of 3 identical Engines from the Village of Lancaster NY, (Home of the Young Plant). I purchased the Engine from RD Murray/ALF in Hamburg NY when she was traded in for $2000 in December of 2004.
First shot is when I purchased the Engine for those who don't remember the condition. The shots after this are from today July 4th, 06.
Hope you enjoy again................Andy

I like the looks of the rehab square headlights. They look sharp. The only other WLF Abassador Series that I know of with the square headlights were the Chicago WLF/Eone/Ranger "Backdraft" 2000 GPM rigs.

For those of you who don't know and keep track of members rigs, my engine broke down just ouside of Baltimore after the Expo Parade this past year. The engine was towed to one of the fire stations in the County were I work, this station is home to the mechanics shop. Unfortunitly they couldn't figure out what is wrong with her and she sat outside for 5 months.
Well I just got her home last Saturday, a buddy of mine has a friend with a flatbed and brought the engine home were she belongs. In spring I will start replacing and polishing rusted items, along with trying to get her running again.

That is a nice rig. Good luck with it. Shame what happened to it.
One of our club members in just the past few months picked up a 77 Ward LaFrance from Blossburg, Pa. which was originally a Rochester, NY truck. He plans to restore and paint it back to when it served Rochester. Next time I am up at our firehouse ( storage facility ) I'll snap a pic or two and post them here.
Well it's been along time since I have posted anything about my rig. I have had a couple of issues with her that have kept me out of the events loop for that last couple of years. I am hoping that the problems are over for now and I can get back to showing her off.
This was from last month at my sons 3rd birthday party, I pull her out every year so the kids have something to jump around on. I started giving rides to the ladies that night <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/BananaMan.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> and blew a tranny line. That is now repaired and I am hopefuly ready to go. Notice my stairs for the kiddies.

you are lucky with your tranny line, my son was leaving a parade with my 1966 wlf and that happened, unfortunately the fluid ignited, took out the air lines ,pump gauge lines ,& wiring at the pump
