Thanks for that pic, it's one that I have not seen! I don't know too many details on this one, but will see what I can find out. I believe it's now been converted to a dump truck. It was originally Rockville,MD., and served WFVFC until 1988. Unknown photographer, Jenkins collection West Virginia - Need help - Guest - 01-11-2009 The Sutphen tower did go to Star City, last I knew they were trying to sell it. I believe it was a gas engine manual tranny. Was up in Wheeling this past summer. Busy dept that runs EMS as well. 2 New Pierce engines, a new Sutphen tower, 2 new squads (ems) and a new rescue, either in service or on the way over the last year or 2. West Virginia - Need help - Guest - 01-30-2009 Group shot of Shepherdstown VFD, c. 1960. The Ford front-mount engine and the Seagrave still survive. Anyone a Caddy expert? I do have a pic of that from over 20 years ago, and it looked beyond saving then. Twice then Shepherdstown has gotten an old aerial from Martinsburg, since they ran this rig's replacement until just a few years ago. Martinsburg's 85' Mack C was delivered in 1961, so that would place this photo in the early 60's, as the next piece for Shepherdstown was a 1964 IH/American. 1928? ALF TDA 75', Martinsburg,WV, 1928-1961, then to Shepherdstown, OOS - 196? then to Gladhill farm,Damascus,MD. Replaced by 1961 Mack C 85' MM, the Mack served MFD until 1989, when it went to Shepherdstown until 200?. when SVFD got their current Pierce quint. 40 years service from both vehicles between 2 depts. ain't bad... West Virginia - Need help - wvguy38 - 02-25-2009 Thought I'd utilize the nice spring like weather today and wash some of the rigs at the station. Took some pics today of our 1975 Ford F600 tanker. This body/tank/pump were all built by members of our department over the years. It has a 250 gpm pump, and 1000 gallons of water. To my knowledge, the pump has only been built once, and the tank and body have been re-built twice. This rig doesn't run very many calls, but the incidents that it does run, it is a very useful apparatus. It has a very short wheelbase, and pretty much runs like a tank!
