Im fairly certain it rotated daily. In fact atleast one day fairfax rotated units 14hr days and 10hr night shifts.

Tim,

The staffing and units changes but I went out on wednesday and thursday night and saw the same units (some rotated units but the new unit went back to the same spot as the unit it replaced) at each station.

RIP Paramedic Joshua Weissman. Paramedic Weissman was assigned to Medic 206 at the time of his passing. Medic 206 outside their quarters.

I still cannot figure out how it happened. It never should of, especially for a car fire.

If youve ever been on 495 theirs a GAP at places between northbound and southbound. When you try to hop over in the middle of the night and miss your step......

It was 395 not the Beltway and no car fire is worth that kind of unnecessary risk.

This is probably not the time for critique. It may have been "just a car fire", but what if the vehicle was occupied? I would have done the same thing. Bottom line is the motivation for his behavior was to help.

It was on 395 yes, but he had to cross into the HOV lanes from the regular lanes, and there was about an 18" gap between the two. PM Weissman made a decision based on his training and knowledge, and questioning his actions is inappropriate for this forum.

What a coincidence, a fire fighter from Darby Township had the same thing happen to him. I-95 neat Philadelphia airport.

He witnessed a accident, stopped to help and almost got hit by another car. He jumped over the guard rail and unfortunately this was where the gap was for the overpass. This happened a couple years ago.

Alexandria, VA Fire Department - B95MACKFIRE - 03-06-2012

Two years ago a volunteer firefighter from Westchester county New York on his way home from his upstate cabin at night saw a roll over on the opposite lanes of 23 west . He also jumped out of his car with his wife and kids in it jumped the concrete barrier and fell 120 feet to his death to the rocks below. Two foot gap there also ,maybe time for some signs and some training.

How many people will die from this before things change! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wacko' />

spoke to a source today 6 new engines from custom fire and 1 tiller and midmount tower from crimson

Alexandria, VA Fire Department - Roto-Ray - 03-26-2012

Absolutely anything is possible, but as of last Friday, it was only four pumpers, otherwise, your information is correct.

Alexandria, VA Fire Department - Engine410kid - 03-26-2012

Also Carbon Fire department EX-OWL open cab tiller truck was at the AFD shops today hanging out. Could be a lend from the ALF dealership due to TL203 and T204 are out of service for failed ladder testing.

Alexandria, VA Fire Department - Fire28 - 03-26-2012

I heard T204 running a call earlier, but have noticed no Tw203 lately.

???? Ex=OWL ???? Do you mean Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton open cab tiller? That was gone in 1982.

Alexandria, VA Fire Department - ShoreFire - 03-27-2012

If your referring to Carbon PA, I don't believe that Tiller belonged to OWL, it came from another PA dept, Carbon held on to it long enuff to replace it with a FEMA grant.

If you're saying that this tiller was being loaned to the AFD, it's now privately owned in Pennsylvania.

Alexandria, VA Fire Department - Engine410kid - 03-27-2012

Oh ok well it looked like they were using it today at the shops.
