I keep meaning to call them but haven't gotten around to it yet. Hope they didn't sell that old ALF Hazmat without swapping the grille first lol.

In the meantime here's some recent shots, been doing a bit of bus photography in DC as of late and grabbed these while I was up there.

The new Tower 3, Franklin Square. 2018 Seagrave Aerialscope 95'. Went into service March 31st, shot taken April 8th.


Reserve Truck 43. No idea what year/model other than mid-2000's Seagrave. Any info appreciated. Was seen running as Truck 15 a few weeks ago:

I have a ton more shots of the new Aerialscope, as the day I was up there they ran about 5 calls in the span of 4 hours. I'll spread them out though.

The reserve ambulance is a Horton. It may be one of the older ones. I know they used to be almost all Horton but now I think the have Road Rescue and Frazer as well.

1. What makes you think Hazmat 2 is going to be sold? It's still running circles around the newer rigs.

2. S-529-16 is the front line M08 last I checked, not a reserve.

Any information would be appreciated.  This was from the Honor Flight bus. 
Also, what is the rig that is often seen in the background as the President is walking toward the White House and answering reporter questions?

NDW foam unit 1.  Naval District of Washington fire and emergency services.  Cross staffed at station 1 JBAB.  NDW has 3 stations in DC.  Station 1, JBAB, Station 2 Navy yard, Station 3 NRL.

Not sure of the year of this one, but I have seen others that are 2015's.  It's a KME Force 1500/1500/200F/500DC.

I'll go out on a limb here.  DCFD operates a "Foam Task Force" (FTF) from the quarters of Engine 13 - Truck 10.  As I recall, the FTF operates three vehicles for district-wide firefighting operations as well as VIP helicopter operations at the White House and other locations.  The three vehicles include Foam Unit 1 which is an Amertek vehicle rebuilt by Emergency One and Foam Unit 2 is an Oshkosh Striker and one of two twinned agent units; the other I believe is quartered at Engine 1 at the West End.  The following video shows the Foam Task Force responding  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJfDSVAjB9Q

Well I'm happy to report the last ALF built (not sure if this is the last ALF ladder ever built or the last ALF ever built) that was destined for Philly but found a home in DC instead, does in fact have a new grille on it. Stopped by there yesterday en route to the Omni to shoot the presidential motorcade and they were kind enough to pull it out for me:

In 1970 DCFD received this 1970 Pirsch 100-foot TDA, Pirsch #2947, DCFD #S-359, which was assigned to Truck 17.
