The Humboldt Bay Fire Department was created in 2011 through a merger of the Eureka Fire Department and Humboldt fire district 1 which provided service to the unincorporated area surrounding the city of Eureka. The department serves a population of approximately 50,000.

 

The city of Eureka is the largest city in Humboldt County, and also the largest coastal city between San Francisco California and Portland Oregon.
