Tim: can you PM me with some good diamond plate clean up tips?
I bought some of this stuff http://brilexsolutions.com/metalandchromepolish.html Works well but takes alot of elbow greese. Gonna try a drill or dremmel attachment with this and see how it goes.
Nice looking Mack!!
A good friend of mine and a retired chief in my area bought their old 100' TDA from a firefighter in the LA area. Him and another guy drove it back from California to Wisconsin. He has a whole slide show of the trip, lots of funny stories along the way. It is a beautiful truck and I saw York's other ladder truck, possibly the replacement of the TDA, for sale a couple of weeks ago.

Got down last month and changed the oil and fuel filters.
Also had a mechanic change out the pump oil.
I'm a Lt. in York, ME. Its cool to see other trucks with "York" painted on them. Nice rig!

A few older pictures a friend found. Probably shortly after the rig was delivered in 1973.
Received a big packet of info from the city about the engine. These shots of the engine from 7/5/1990 prior to the refurb running as engine 7.
Also got this! |
