Its a long time since I posted on this group, so thought I best give you guys something interesting to look at.
During June eight friends and I took a 10 day vacation to Germany and Denmark for the prime purpose of buffing. We visited the Interschutz exhibition at Hannover (which has already been covered on these boards) before spending time photographing apparatus in Germany.
We then drove up into Denmark for a few days as we had arranged to shoot apparatus at a number of locations.
First up, Padborg - a volunteer station just over the border from Germany.
This is a Mercedes 814 Pumper dating from the mid-1990s.
Next stop was Tonder, a coastal town near to the North Sea. Again, this was a volunteer station. The Chief himself came in and moved the apparatus..... probably something he regretting doing!
First up - a Pumper based on a Scania P94D chassis.
Next up - the Ladder, based on a Scania P94D-310 6x2 chassis with Bronto Skylift F32RL (32 metre) booms. As the Chief was moving this vehicle out he caught the back corner on a wall and smashed the rear lights and scuffed the paint! We were mortified but he was completely casual and was more concerned that the Ladder would not make a good picture!!!
