And the owner's name escapes me for the moment, but the 69 Ford/Pirsch is located in Glen Burnie- threw a rod back in 2000 and hasn't moved since. E7 was the first vehicle ever painted in the stars and bars scheme I'm told.

I talked to some guy from VA a few years ago and he was supposed to call me to come haul it for him. But I have never heard from him

Does anyone have good information on what is on order and from who? Also any word on when the Striker ordered will be in town and in service?

Thanks...

Ron thanks for the info! I forwarded it on to RCFD. Does anyone have a photo of this truck when it was DCFD E2?

Here’s a couple of re-posts, Andy, with some sparse info: Engine 2 working a Box Alarm, 727 15th St. NW, April, 2001. Shop Serial S-101 was one of three E-Ones purchased in 1996. Engines 10 and 15 got S-102 and S-103 respectively.

Engine 2 on the scene of a house fire in the 3rd Battalion. The E\-One wagon is a 1500/ 750 driven by a Detroit 6v92TA. Note the stream shaper below the wagon pipe added to extend the reach over the cab.

View is facing west on Prout St. SE at Nicholson St. SE, August 3, 2002.

I spent 16 years at 15 Engine and the only Mack Picture that we had on the wall was the A Model E-15 had. I'm gonna have to research this some.

Thanks for the Pic.

When I was appointed I believe Engines 14 and 29 still ran '57 Macks, and possibly Engine 15 and 18 (?). At any rate, c. 1977, some company with 15's old Mack parked it on the west side of the Capitol and created a Kodak Moment for posterity.

Heard from a retired Deputy Chief that they just got 2 new squads from Pierce and that they where going to be getting some Pierce Pumpers as well. He said the Squads weren't going to be in service for a while. Maybe someone else has more info than that.

According the the Wagon Pipe newsletter. DC signed for 2 Pierce Rescue Squads, and 2 Seagrave Aerials. The Department also sent 3 Seagrave aerials back to Seagrave. 2 for Refurb, and 1 to use for parts. The engine contract to Pierce shouldn't be far away either. I've been told it will be for 5 engines.

Thanks Patrick, saw that from the WP. Thanks for the info on the pumpers, interested to see them when they arrive. I hope the Striker will be in town soon. I want to shoot it, I love Strikers. If it isn't in town for my Aug/Sept trip perhaps when I am there in November.

Final inspection for the Striker was 2 weeks ago. The Pierce Squads are months if not a year out. The next deliveries will be 15 Ford E450/Horton Ambulances and 2 IH 4300/Horton Ambulances
