Today I had things to do but I did take my camera because I was going to be near several stations in the southern part of the County that have new Velocity engines.
First I caught Engine 427 in West Springfield.

Ran by 435 twice but they were out both times so final for today is Engine 409. Engine 409's ladder rack had incident that took the rig out of service for a while but it is back in service now...

Enjoy, thats all for tonight! I am going to try to shoot 439, 415 and 435 before Sunday as well as a few other FFX Co rigs. May also try some Alex, Arlington Co, and MWAA shots somewhere in there.

Only shot for today is Engine 432. I will download and post a shot or two later today.
435 is at South Apparatus with siren issues.
415 is in a spare pumper as is 439.

Thanks all the recent new rig photos. If someone gets to 435 can you get an overall station photo as well.... only station I am missing a photo for at this point. The one I have is from when they opened with doors closed and it was canned from a film print that has finger prints and such and is not a good shot.

432 is an 09 model and has the flag graphic on the grill and a booster reel.
409, 415, 427, 435 and 439 are 10 models without the flag graphic or booster reel.

Actually it's $1,005 option - at least it was in Feb 09 when we were doing the engineering work on E413.

Monday night the Fair Oaks Vol Fire & Rescue members voted to award the contract to Pierce Manufacturing for a new Pierce Velocity engine. This will replace our current 1990 Pierce Lance. Several factors went into the choice of the Velocity over the Quantum that I won't post here. The details are now being worked out and there is an expected delivery time of April- May 2011. Don't ask for the price, that won't be posted here by me (for now) either.

They won't be the bus type mirrors and no booster reel.
