Thats a lot of pressure. But then again you are stretching the line a little distance.

Question for Kevin Bryne or others. It seems most of the DC engines are 1250 gpm. However, I do see some KME, E\-One, and Pierce engines that I have listed as 1500. I also see some engines with 750 tanks while 500 is the standard. Most do not have foam, but I also show some pumpers with 30 gallon foam cells. I do not need to go back in history, but does anyone have a list or shop number for the 1500s, 750s, and 30s foam pumpers from say 1990 to today? I hope you can understand my question and someone has a list without researching.
Thanks for any assistance with this project - Jerry

Thanks for any assistance with this project - Jerry
Thanks for the kind words in your previous post. I truly appreciate it. Now, take this with a grain of salt – I am still checking for the written source, but as I recall: 1993 KME S-191 1500/750/30 1993 KME S-192 1500/750/30 1993 KME S-193 1500/750/30 1993 KME S-194 1500/750/30 1994 E\-One Cyclone S-195 1500/750/30 1994 E\-One Cyclone S-196 1500/750/30 1995 KME S-197 1500/500 (foam?)/ 75’ 1996 E\-One Cyclone S-101 1500/750/40 1996 E\-One Cyclone S-102 1500/750/40 1996 E\-One Cyclone S-103 1500/750/40 1998 Seagrave TB50DD S-104 1500/500 1998 Seagrave TB50DD S-105 1500/500 1998 E\-One Cyclone II S-114 1250/500 1998 E\-One Cyclone II S-115 1250/500 1998 E\-One Cyclone II S-116 1250/500 1998 E\-One Cyclone II S-117 1250/500 I may be mistaken, but I recollect just one of the 1998 batch also had a foam tank – and I think it went to E-30. I will check. Meanwhile, perhaps ResQguy, Jaws, or dcfiremanjeff can jump in.

Anyone have any pics of the wrking ends of the new seagraves? I need some pics of low hose beds to present to our apparatus committee. Thanks in advance.
Kevin,
Here's some additions and adjustments to the list you posted. This info is from the shop list, I was able to obtain back in DEC 2001. The last assignments are on the shop list from NOV 2006 Jeff 1998 E\-One Cyclone II S106 1500/500/30 E4, E62 1998 E\-One Cyclone II S107 1500/500/30 E18, E63 1998 E\-One Cyclone II S108 1500/500/30 E26, E64 1998 E\-One Cyclone II S109 1500/500/30 E33, E65 1999 E\-One Cyclone II S114 1250/500/30 E1,E29,E66 1999 E\-One Cyclone II S115 1250/500 E16,E53 1999 E\-One Cyclone II S116 1250/500 E30,E55 1999 E\-One Cyclone II S117 1250/500 E22,E56
Many thanks for the informative posts to my request. I appreciate it. I'm still having problems with the KMEs from 1992, 1993, and 1995. Anyone got a list for those?
Thanks - Jerry

Someone else posted the info above showing they had foam tanks. These were the 4 wagons which E\-One tried to make with low hosebeds. They placed most of the water tank standing up just before the hose bed, with only a little of the water tank under the hosebed. It was an 'L' shaped tank. The problem with these wagons is that that design placed too much weight on the front axle and too little weight on the rear axle. This caused for these wagons to have a lot of problems, and eventually E\-One had to bring them back to Florida and redo them so that they had a traditional water tank.

Anyone? Jerry
I recalled seeing a photo of Engine 12 in a KME Telesqurt. Dunno if that was the apparatus original assignment.

Anyone? Some engines received their shop number as their reserve number. I photographed a few Hahns and Ford C/E-Ones back between 1998 & 2000 using this system. Then they started numbering them with the number of the Engine Company they were quartered with followed by an "R". Now they are numbered in the 50s and 60s series. I'm not sure if and how many of the KME pumpers got the shop number as the reserve number. Maybe someone else has some more info. Jeff
I scanned some old photos today, these are from 1990 or 1991, can't really remember, I was 13 or 14 so don't expect too much from these!
From the shops, the "riot" truck Engine 7 A spare ALF tiller spotted around town Not sure if it's the same Truck Co spotted downtown on a run. Engine 2? I have some more I'll put up later
I have not added to this great string as my records have all concurrred with what has been posted. What the hey, I'll throw in here. Kevin, Jerry, Jeff my records all concur on the foam and water tanks over the years and on the KME's with one exception. On S-195 "The Thing" that I have as a '93 KME "Excel" 1500/500/30 with a 75' Firestix. I have it as a '93 model that did not go in service until as I have it summer 1994 (feel free to correct). Jeff of the KME's I have 191, 192 & 194 taking the shop #'s as their reserve unit numbers. I also have for S-114 through 117 as '99 E-Ones, with S-117 that went to E30 the only one with a 30-gallon foam cell. I'm going off shop lists plus Wagon Pipe coverage. Great String that has jogged lots of my memories.
Rusty ol' Ed Freen
Trust me, E30 was S116. I just had to walk around its oil slick on the apparatus floor yesterday. No foam cell here.
Also worth mentioning regarding the Pierces, Engine-4 is the only wagon in the bunch to have the TAK4 suspension, as well as a Detroit 60.

I want to thank everyone who has assisted me with my roster. I am headed north tomorrow. I will be in Arlington and DC. I hope to have some DC photos to post on Sunday.
I'm now looking for a list of apparatus that has been taken out of service recently (past year or so). I found a lot of this by veiwing Kevin's history. Going through all the post and reading them is great, but a list would make the task a lot easier. Thanks for any help offered - Jerry
Here are some more, again, not much info on them. I'm sure most of these rigs have already been posted.
Truck 3's E\-One on an ambo assist Engine 3 and the Ford wagon Closer crappier indoor shot of the wagon I know this was already posted be here's my shot of the old Ford Foam unit Engine 13's wagon Theres a couple more, nothing much better, I'll put them in over the weekend. |
