Tech don’t hate me but my first day of working in the fire apparatus repair business I had to help separating the tractor and trailer. The trailer was sent to Pierce to be referbed and retractored . The Hahn tractor sat in Gainesville for 6 months and one day DC came and got it I would like know what happen to it.



When it came back with the new tractor and redone trailer I figured DC would hate it and I think I was right because not many where fond of it.



Growing up in the DC metro area I have seen this unit going down the streets of DC and I miss the Hahns from this area.

So when did the Stars and Bars start. I noticed some 1985 E\-One Hurricane's delivered in old Solid Red. What was the reason in switching to the Stars and Bars? Thanks in advance.

Dr, I too would like to know where the cab went. Maye Cos or dcfireman can shed some light on that suject. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> It was a great truck to work off of like I said. Whenever we where near the Capital or White House, tourist would stop us and ask for a picture with the bldgs in the background.

The first 'Stars and bars' apparatus in DCFD Was Rescue Squad 3 in 1982. It was displayed at the IAFF convention in Philadelphia. they didn't use the color scheme on other apparatus until later.

I was under the impression that hizzoner, future ex-Mayor-for-life Marion Barry made a decree that as many city vehicles as possible would be painted in the Stars and Bars scheme.
