Engine 98's current rig is newer then 2001. I think they have one of the high-pressure rigs like Engine 42.

What is the difference between the equipment carried on Collapse 521 vs. Technical Rescue 525? Is 525 just high angle / CSR, or does it also carry collapse equipment? And do they both respond for trench or structural collapse runs? I assume they are both cross-manned by companies in those stations?



For Vac Truck 524, do they carry the attachments and hoses for the RescueVac on that rig, or are they carried on another unit? It looks like the FD took the water jet system off and replaced it with compartments under the body of the truck. The jetter reel, normally on the front of vac trucks, is also gone. Does FD SOC have a tool air compressor(s) on a rig or do they use a tow-behind? The RescueVac is normally used with an air knife to loosen and aerate the soil so it moves easier. Sorry if I'm being too technical with the questions...Just cool to see an FD with their own vac truck.

I show the rig assigned to E005 was a '97 HME/Luverne that was originally E070 when new. After its time at E005 it was re-assigned to E089. There are photos showing E089 having a '95 Spartan/Luverne, then a '97 HME-Luverne (Theoretically Ex-E005 & Ex-E070) and now currently a Spartan/Luverne (flat roof with split Vector light bars).



As for the High Pressure pumpers someone mentioned E042. I think the 2nd HP pumper in that order went to E098. Both being '05 Spartan/Crimson rigs.

I don't believe Engine 89 ever had a 1997 HME/Luverne. They went from the 1995 Spart/Luverne to the 2001 Spartan Luverne. From what I remember, the 1997 HME/Luverne assigned to Engine 5 went straight to the spare pool after it was replaced.

My records (which have been obtained from multiple non-CFD sources over the years) show D-578 as a 2001 Spartan/Luverne that was originally assigned to E61, then reassigned to E5, and is now assigned to E89.



D-559 is a 1997 HME/Luverne that was originally assigned to E125, then reassigned to E78, and then reassigned to E5. I now show it as a spare.



Now my turn for a question - D-571 is one of four 1999 HME/Luvernes, originally assigned to E125. I think it may have been reassigned to E99, but I'm not sure. I can't find any sign of it currently being in service or as a apare...does anyone know where this rig is?

[/quote]D-571 became a spare rig and I believe that it was so they would have a short wheel base Engine to act as a spare for the other nine short wheel base HME' Luvernes that were in front line service at the time.

Engine 98's 3rd stage high pressure pumper is a 2007 model and not a 2005 model and was ordered separately from Engine 42 which was put in service at least a year before Engine 98's high pressure pumper was put in service.

The last that I had heard is that there was some problems with the new strikers and they were shipped back to the Oskosh/Pierce plant. I really don't know if they are back in Chicago yet or not? I don't know what the shop number of 659 is but I understand that they were using an Oshkosh 3000. It must have been one of the spare rigs that they keep at the Airport.

Just Curious why are the ladders not bedded on the exterior like the E\-One's and Pierce's? Does anyone know the Ground Ladder complement?
