Awsome photos <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I love the Mack C and the Water Tower.
The front bumper of the engine's carries 150 feet of 5 inch. Hydrants in Chicago are 300 feet, so in theory the engine is never more the 150 from a hydrant.

Thanks Ed, I don't do much more than resize in Photoshop. I see the Pierce nameplate now, thanks
My notes say it was ex Truck 2, went to Truck 1 in 1974, then into reserve in 1980.
Maybe Steve or Bill could fill in further.........
The Hendrickson was originally number for Truck 2 but was never used as Truck 2 as there wasn't enough Clearance for the Vehicle in Truck 2's old station.Truck 2 had been using a 1960 Mack Magirus 144 foot Aerial Ladder at the time and it was the intention of the CFD to replace the 1960 Mack Magirus "High Ladder" with the Hendrickson Pierce "High Ladder". It ended gong int service at Truck 1's house and Truck 1's American Lafrance 100 foot Rearmounted Aerial Ladder Truck was reassigned to Truck 2 instead.[/quote] Firepost.
