I see 2 Different color sets of Gear here is that Differ for position on the department or are they switching over? just curious.

AFD is making the change to black gear like most of our local departments. Currenlty the probies fresh out of academy have new black gear and the rest of the members till have the lighter color stuff.

this is one of the last batch. Starting from the outside and working towards the center...Normally there will be a 200' 1.75 preconnect on one side of the bed and a 300' on the other. Some companies will have one bed of 3" and another of 2.5" and others will have two beds of 3". The companies that have the two beds of 3" normally put a static 2.5" in the middle of varying lengths (500' +/-100') Hope that helps.

Almost all the pumpers have it...it's really nice to have a lower step and a slightly larger amount of space to stand when loading hose and/or pulling lines off the rear. I'd love to see a lower bed height but this is definitely the standard in the DFD.
