Maybe I missed it, however I cannot find the old thread for Winchester, Virginia apparatus.

 

This truck was just purchased and brought back to Winchester by a local collector.

Originally delivered to Charles Town, West Virginia (Independent Fire Company) - painted solid red

Sold to Winchester, VA in 1967.  They added red and white color.

Sold to a collector in the Baltimore area in approximately 1990

Sold to a collector in Winchester, VA in August of 2014

Mike, to throw a wrinkle into this rig's history, here is a slide dated 1976 from S. Ryan, perhaps your date is wrong, especially since Independent got a CF Mack in 1977?

WOW, while a truly beautiful truck now, I love it as it was originally. It looks just like the Macks that roamed the streets of Richmond, Virginia when I was a child and developed my love of the fire service and its apparatus. A red Mack equals a real fire truck!!!
