It started with a scandle about overtime and in an effort to cut down the overtime that firefighters were getting the then fire chief bent to county board preasure and disbanded several units. It causes strife within the union itself to the point that a couple of members of the union have left the union. During the investigation the now board president Steve S came out and condemned all of the department basically.

Sorry I have not been around a lot of late but I have been working a project and that has taken a lot of my time.

I was able to get out during the Open house weekend for Las Vegas Fire and Rescue and get a couple of good shots. Everytime I had gone to Station 1 to get pictures Engine 201 was out on a call so I was lucky to catch it in the Barn this time and the engineer pulled it out for me and gave me some information on the rig.

2000 Pierce Quantum

It has around 200k on it and is scheduled to be replace next year when the new rigs come in. The Engineer told me that the new rigs will be from Smeal because they are just not happy with the new Pierce Quantum's.

The new Battalion 1 was also in Quarters when I stopped by Station 1 and I was able to get a few pictures of it. The engineer who pulled out Engine 201 for me also pulled out Battalion 1 and he said that he thought they should have Put fire and rescue where they have Las Vegas and Las Vegas where they have Fire and Rescue. But he did say he likes the new graphics.

During last weekends Open House at all of the City of Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Stations I stopped by Station 3.

In January of this year the department moved Truck 3 to Station 8 and reassigned it as Truck 8. They moved the C.B.R.N.E. unit to Station 3.

In this picture is Left To Right

While I was at the Station Rescue 3 got called out and I was able to get a picture of the three main rigs of the Station.

While I was out at Station 1 the Emergency Command Unit was parked in the back of the Station. The last time I had seen the rig it was assigned to Station 5.

It is now assigned to Station 7, if I am reading the Station Rig Assignments correctly.

Jim here is a couple from some of the departments in the surrounding areas.

First of all let lead off with the newest from the City of Las Vegas

Rescue 107  This style of rescue was put into service earlier this year by the City of Las Vegas

This is Rescue 1 out of Station 1 and for the most part most of the rescue units in the City are of this style.

Thank you I was told that a while back and just forgot to redo the photos with the correct information on them.

Here are a few that I took about a month ago at the Orleans Hotel and Casino. Clark County Fire and Henderson Fire Department's were on the scene of a Maintenance Worker possibly trapped in a Ventilation Shaft. To the best of my knowledge it turned out to be a false alarm. Since there really was not any action that could be seen from my vantage point I choose to share these here in the Apparatus Forum.

CLARK COUNTY ENGINE 21 ON THE SCENE. STATION 21 USE TO HOUSE THE HEAVY RESCUE COMPANIES BUT DUE TO FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS HEAVY RESCUE 21 AND TRENCH RESCUE 21 HAVE BEEN SHUTTERED AND HEAVY RESCUE UNITS COME FROM THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS AND CITY OF HENDERSON
