Dave Are you sure of the year? What year was enclosed cabs required 1991. I suppose it could have been ordered before requirement.

Most likely a 1991 chassis.  It left the Grumman factory in 1992.

Their Snorkel is a Ford Louisville/Grumman and it is still in service at Station 3.

Ford ended production of the C series in 1990, delivering the last ones as 1991s. It isn't unusual for the chassis and build to have different years. My engine is a 2010 IH chassis but the KME data plate shows it as a 2011.

At my last job we had a 2009 Pierce that avoided some of the 2009 update requirements, because the order was placed just under the wire in Nov/Dec of 2008.

Exactly.  Unlike the automobile industry, where the new year's models can be purchased 3-4 months prior to that year, fire apparatus have been traditionally considered to be determined by the date at which the completed apparatus left the factory.  I was once a member of an FD that purchased a 1988 Seagrave rearmount, ordered in 1987, but built on a Ford C-8000 chassis that had been sitting in Clintonville since 1985.
