I understand that they are red LED lights, part of the warning package.

Yes, you're correct, used in place of a mini lightbar.

You will have to ask one of the FFX County guys, however, FFX County is a county of almost 1 million people, several tank farms and lots of interstates so I am sure it gets it's fair share of responses. Fairfax County has Foarm 437 a 2000 E\-One Cyclone 3000 GPM 500 GWT 2000 GFT-B and Fairfax City has a 1991 White/Volvo/GMC Chubb National Foarm 1500 GPM 1500 GFT-B assinged to Foam 403. Fairfax City also has Foam Support 403 a National Foam trailer iwth 1100 gallons of B foam and Foam Support 803 a trailer equiped with a 3000 GPM nozzle.

First off, Engine 11 pictured above is now a reserve rig.

TL 30 has 2 sisters, Tower 8 and Tower 40. After MUCH heated debate here in the department, the decision was made to order no more mid mount tower ladders.

The last rumor I heard was that a Pierce rearmount tower was going to McLean to replace tower 1, and 2 105' rearmount sticks were going to truck 11 and possibly truck 25 (which were the first 2 Pierce rearmounts delivered).

If anyone knows anymore please feel free to add/correct me!

I first heard from one of the Operations Deputies last August that 2 95' Midmounts and 1 rearmount aerial were going to be ordered. On my recent trip I once again heard the same from several sources. When I got home tonight and saw the previous post I pulled out my Jan/Feb copy of Virginia Fire News (one of the best publications in the country....great job as always Jerry!) and the Apparatus on Order section confirms 2 07 Pierce Dash 95' midmount platforms and 1 07 Pierce Dash 105' RM ladder are due in July.

The post for Engine 411 identifies that I caught it when it was in service front line and that it since has been replaced by a 2005 Pierce Dash.

I got a note today that said the next batch of 4 07 Pierce Dash pumpers are due in August or September. If anyone hears anything different or has heard of any new orders for next year please post them here.

The other FFX County new deliveries that I am aware of is a 07 Dash Pumper for the Springfield VFD which is Fairfax Co Station 422, 4 more 07 Dash pumpers due later this year, and 2 Pierce tanksers. Fairfax City FD also has a 07 Pierce Dash pumper on order to replace the current Quantum assigned to Engine 403.

Alexandria should be good until they replace Truck 208.

Arlington County I have been out of touch with for a while. Does anyone have any information on recent or new orders? I think they replaced a few pumpers and a rescue squad in the last year.
