Yes, I was in touch with Jack prior to my trip. He was doing promotional assessments the two days I was available to stop and get shots. The guys on A shift were very helpful though.
To answer your question about Potomac on Station 202.....in the way past Alexandria was made up of different fire companies and Station 202 way back when was the Potomac Fire Department.
Here is a link from the AFD's website for Stations. http://alexandriava.gov/fire/stations.html
Every station that has an early history has information under that station on what it's origin was.

Well close. That was the fire station and city hall for the town of Potomac that included Potomac (Rail) Yard. Teh town was eventually merged into the City of Alexandria
First picture is Station 206, built in 1957. 4609 Seminary Road, Alexandria, VA.
Alexandria Station 206 houses Engine (formerly Rescue Engine) 206, Rescue Squad 206, TRS 206 (25' shorting trailer of the Alexandria Technical Rescue Team), Medic 206, and Battalion 212.
Rig for tonight is Rescue Squad 206
2003 Spartan (Evolution) 4dr built by Crimson Fire with a 40 (I believe) KW generator.
Rescue Squad 206 is not full staffed, it is single pulled by Engine 206 which formerly was Rescue Engine 206 (pictures tomorrow). Engine 206 is fully equiped as a Rescue Engine and can serve as the rescue company if needed.

When Tower 203 was first ordered a story circulated that the reason that Alexandria ordered the unit was specifically so it could fit through the tunnel into the inner courtyard at the Pentagon. In fact the rig can fit through the tunnel and get to the Pentagon's inner courtyard if needed, however, it wasn't ordered specifically for that reason. The dimensions of Tower 203 are a result of having to fit into Station 203 which does not have high doors.

Here are a few A.F.D. rigs that John (lime guy) and I shot the first day of the winter thaw trip to FLA. Enjoy! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/drredengine.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
The engine you shot at Station 202 is not the front line Engine 202. I have the frontline 202 posted earlier in this thread. As you can see in the pictures they have numbers that can be affixed to the reserve pumper being used. The rig you captured is Reserve Engine 291, which is the former Engine 201. 1990 KME (Renegade) 1250 GPM 500 GWT 30 GFT-B, 6 kw generator.
Here are a few shots of it with Engine 291 markings, although it was being utilized by the crew of Engine 203 while their 2001 Pierce Dash was in the shop for routine repairs. I will have to shoot Engine 203 and Engine 205 and try for better shots of Engine 201 next trip in August.

Forgot a few things about Truck 208. It is the last Tr/Tr ladder in front line service in Northern VA.
Rumors have been that AFD is looking at replacing Truck 208. For a while I was hearing that they would replace 208 with a Pierce rear mount, however, with a new Fire Chief soon in Alexandria who knows what Truck 208 will be replaced with and when it will happen. Maybe one of the local guys who get more frequent updates can add clarity at some point.

Here are the new Tomar (I am pretty sure they are Tomar) LED lightbars that have been added to Engine 207 and 204 since last year.
More pictures of Engines 204 and 207 later this week. And a few scans of Engine 203 from a few years ago. That will leave only Engine 205 (identical to Engine 203) and Hazmat 202 that I don't have pictures for.
Theese are the new LEDs on Engine 207:
Side LED lighting (Red)
And Engine 204:
