While at the local Pierce Dealer for Virginia I got to see Fairfax County's (Va) new Tankers, I believe they ordered three Identical tankers on Mack granite chassis. These rigs look great and kudos for whom ever speced them. Their were only two in the lot Tanker 441 (Crosspoint) and Tanker 416 (clifton).

Great shots. I like the mini lightbar on the front grill.
People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?
I knew someone would find them so I'll post mine here as well.

Crosspointe, the county's newest station will receive this tanker Job# 19061-02.The biggest difference between these and the Freightliner versions was they didn't have a Pierce drop down rack for the folding tank.On the officers side they have a booster reel in the cab steps.
They also told me there was a third one but by the Virgina Fire News magazine there should be 2 this year and 2 next year. Terry

Did either of you when you were at Singer see Fairfax City's new Dash pumper?
When I was in town two weeks ago I didn't get to do much in the County but I did talk to a few of my friends and they said that there were 3 tankers, two this year, and 1 early next year. Two rescues on Velocity chassis, due sometime next year, the 4 Dash pumpers should be in early in the year, will probably go to 412, 416, 424 and unsure on the fourth, Centerville VFD (417) and Springfield VFD (422) both have Dash pumpers on order, unknown when due, two Dash rear mount ladders which should be in soon, and one rear mount tower, Dash chassis I believe, due sometime next year. When I was at Sta 403 they said the new Dash pumper for Engine 403 was going to be delivered to Singer within a week or two and that it would be in service probably by early October. No news on anything new for Alexandria. They are still in the process of deciding what to do with Truck 208. First rumors were a Pierce RM with a pump, now with a new chief they are back to the drawing board it sounds like.
