not sure if it's going to be sent to another station, which is likely but i have no idea which one, or going into the reserve fleet.
Engine 441 is a 2007 Pierce dash, CAFS engine. 1 of 4 I believe. It was allowed to come all the way from Pierce in Wisconsin to DC for the St.Pattys day parade today, only to have to go back in the near future for the finishing touches. I noticed the top of the cab is red, maby a new paint scheme coming about?
Correction- The engine was finished early so it could be here for the parade. The other engines are coming soon.
Engine 441 did get one of the second batch of Pierce Dash's. I believe the third batch all have CAFS. I have to look but I believe that 416, 412, 420 and apparently 441 will get the 3rd batch. I am sure the 2nd batch rig assigned to E441 will be reassigned.
The first batch of Pierce Dash pumpers went to Engines 404, 411, 418, 421, 428, 429, 430, 431, 434 and 440. 2005 Pierce Dash pumpers 1500 GPM, 625 GWT, 40 GFT.
The second batch went to Engine 407 at the Training Academy, Engine 425, 426, 436, and 441. 2007 Pierce Dash pumpers 1500 GPM, 750 GWT, 50 GFT, driver side ladder rack.
I believe there are 4 more Dash pumpers on order for delivery later this year with specs similar to the second batch of 5.
Here is Engine 430 from the first batch of pumpers.

Have a question for all of the Fairfax County guys. I was down in the county taking pictures the other day. When I stopped at the shops I was able to get Greater Springfields new engine moved for pictures. It is labeled for Engine 422. I have that number listed for both their 1998 Pierce Quantum, and 2002 Pierce Dash. Can anybody provide whether they still have these, or what they were reassigned to.

The quantum that was E422(career) had alot of problems with it, from what i understand, and was just easier to sell off and use our reserve dash as frontline. The other quantom is still in service as the volunteers engine(E822 or E422B). The dash is MIA to my knowledge due to a county reserve E\-One cyclone 2 running as frontline right now for the career guys right now till the new engine goes in service. Hope this helps.

The Pierce saber is still here and is acting as frontline for the career guys till the new engine goes in service. At that point it will act as a reserve or will be sold off.
Not a bad looking rig. I gotta head down to lorton to get some pics. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I have heard the same thing. We must frequent the same message board or something....
The Red Roof "option" has been around for a while.Prince Frederick has had it since 1989. And if I recall correctly, their 1976 Emg.22,"Red Cloud" Hendrickson/Pierce had it also.
New engine 422 goes in service thursday at 0700. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
