A few questions about the helicopter...

Which aircraft was lost? Was it the '94 Bell Jet Ranger? What was the tail number of the aircraft?

And have the numbers of the 2 current aircraft ever been swapped?

Thanks.

The tail number appears to be N681FD from the photo of the crash.

Beautiful and thanks. That rules out the '94 Jet Ranger.

Thanks again.

Any idea what the Chicago I.D. # was for the '94 Bell Jet Ranger with tail number N135RP?

And des anyone know if the previous N681FD was another Bell 412 EP?

Thanks.

From the link from above, it looked more like a Bell Huey/205. Any aircraft experts can verify that?

The Helicopter that is laying on it's roof appears to be a Bell 204 or Bell 205 single engine machine. The Bell 204 was a civi version of the US Army Huey. The Bell 205 had a longer cabin. The newer Helicopters are Bell 412 twin engine birds. They are powered by Pratt and Whitney Canada Twin Pac's build just south of Montreal. The Bell 412's are assembaled at Bell's Canadian plant, north of Montreal near Mirabel, Quebec.
