Back to the bridge in KC is a view of a UP SD-70 that you would not normally see.

Two old Pullman cars....and down the tracks, two retired Chicago METRA commuter cars. It really WAS that dark so we headed for the relative safety of the car as a severe thunderstorm was barrelling at us.

The station...getting scary out there at that point. If anyone happens to pass through Nelsonville, worth a stop for a few pix.

That's a snowplow, not a caboose.

But it looks like it coupled to an engine that would push it...and was "stacked" if you will, with the other cabooses along that line. Didn't look like it has an independent engine.

Viewing the shots again, I can see where it could be thought of as a caboose. And it may very well have been built homemade from an old caboose.

Those type of plows didn't/don't. They were/are usually pushed by a locomotive with a flat car or a bax car between the Engine and the plow to act as a spacer.

Looks like welded rail to replace the jointed rail. Or was that a seperate set of tracks itself?
