Fairfax County VA
Below is a link to a NOVA photo thread I maintain on The Watchdesk. If you scroll down the page you will find photos I took of the fire in 21's Box. I have been in correspondence with the fireman who was pushed of the 4th floor balcony and toppled to the ground when the collapse occurred. He was the one who sounded a very clear and concise Mayday (AFTER falling) that was featured on Statter. Both firefighters are in stable condition. I was a block away when the collapse took place and the Maydays were sounded. Sent shivers up my spine.

The doors went up on FS 10 today. I was working close by and had to stop to take pics.First the engine and one of three EMS units, second is the truck. All of them are squating from the weight. Word is they are going to be driven out under their own power. Looks to me like significant suspension damage to all vehicles.

Nate,

I listened to the fire on the scanner. Thank you for the pictures. Great shots. My fav is T436 & T438. Makes nice screen wallpaper.

Thanks Bruce!

BTW - In my opinion Engine 410 is the best spec'd Engine in Fairfax County, followed closely by Engine 422 (a bit longer wheel base). As Dr Feelgood has previously stated Dale City's frontline Engines bear a close resemblance to Engine 410 and they get my vote for best spec'd Engines in Prince William County.

Again, just my opinion.

Stay safe gents

Prince William County Engine 591 (training academy rig). I personally like this color scheme, and it has a roto-ray!

I may have already posted this rig.

Fairfax reserve Tower. I believe this once ran as Tower 36.

Looks like a nice ride. Anyone have walk-arounds?

Here it is in reserve status operating as Tower 36 at a 31 Box house fire in 2008.

Former Rescue 11 - Penn Daw. I personally prefer these rigs over the new Rescues, but then again I don't have to use them. Just my opinion.

Engine 9. I believe this rig will soon be replaced when the Velocity Engines come in.

County reserve Engine running as either Engine 18 or Engine 30 at the Yorktown Shopping Center 4 Alarm fire in early 2009. The Tower Ladder seen behind was actually running as Tower 10! The county had no more reserve ladders available.
