DCFD Photos, old or new
Gentlemen,

Did Mobile Air Unit 1 replace Air 1? If it did, has old Air 1 become Air 3 (ready reserve)? If all the above is correct - are both units still quartered with Engine 4? If not - please clarify.

Where is Brush Unit quartered?

And one last question. Does any know if the following companies (units) ever had patches: E5, E12, E13, E24, E28/T14, E31, DFC, BFC1, BFC5, Command Unit, Fire Boat, Air1/Air2, Foam1/Foam2? If they had - any information, especially in form of scans, photos, samples will be greatly appreciated.
The old Air Unit 1 is now being used as Air Unit 2, though the markings on it still say Air Unit 1. I'm not sure what happened to the old Air Unit 2. It may be the reserve Air Unit now, but I'm not sure.

The Brush Unit is presently quartered at Engine 7.

E13/T10 had a logo of "All the President's Men" at one time, but I don't know if that got made into a patch or was just used on the t-shirts they had at one time. E13/T10 did have a patch years ago from back when they were in another battalion (back when DC had 8 battalions they were I believe in the 7th battalion, they are now in the 6th battalion).

Thank you very much for the info! It definitely helps and clarifies a few things. I suppose the Air truck without markings that appeared on this thread some time ago is ex-Air 2 running as a spare.

The warehouse behind E24 - is it the red roof building on the norther side of Gallatin St? The shops are located at E7, aren't they?

Recently I read somewhere that E10/T13 was in the 2nd Battalion, but I had them as 6th. Which one is the correct Battalion?

I also dare to ask a few questions about the EMS part of DCFD. I know I might get abused and get tomatos and eggs thrown at me, but I'll ask anyways:

Medical Ambulance Bus - where is it quartered?

EMS supervisors are quartered as follows, is that correct?

EMS Supervisor 1-6 @ Engine 2

EMS Supervisor 2 @ Engine 8

EMS Supervisor 3 @ Engine 32

EMS Supervisor 4-5 @ Engine 11

EMS Supervisor 5 @ Engine 16

Also thank you very much for the info on company patches. I know that there are a couple of patch boards at the stations. Do you know if anybody has got them documented in photos?

Stay safe

Alex,

Your welcome on the info. The warehouse is directly behind E24. Actually the Shop is next to E7. E10/T13 were in the 2nd Batt, But are now in the 1st Batt. About the patches being documented in photos you would have to contact the stations and ask them directly. I know that E2,4,11,13,16 have patch walls. There might be more but those are the ones I remember.

Jaws,

He was asking about E10/T13 in his post. But thinking about it I think he was thinking E13/T10!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

I must have read that too fast and thought it said the opposite.

E10/T13 - 1st battalion

E13/T10 - 6th battalion

Not anymore. As of last Sunday:

EMS 1 @ E12 (2008 Tahoe)

EMS 2 @ E8 (2005 Tahoe)

EMS 3 @ E15 (2008 Tahoe)

EMS 4/5 @ E11 (2007 Tahoe)

EMS 5 @ E2 (2007 Tahoe)

EMS 6 @ E16 (2008 Tahoe)

Soon, EMS 4/5 will be renumbered EMS 4, and EMS 5 will move to E20. This will have an EMS supervisor quartered with each Operations BFC. More to follow.

ResQguy,

Thanks a lot for the update! I suppose they figured out that one EMS supervisor covering in two battalions didn't work the way they wanted. Or they might just have too much money on their hands... LOL

I persume that Ambulance and Medic units locations have changed recently as well?

Hope to see the "more to follow" soon.

No that one looks like a Huey, the one on the rescue was a Bell Jet-Ranger.
