DC Truck 2 and Truck 8 are up for viewing on Seagraves website, under new deliveries. Can't wait for Spring to get here, so I can get some nice shots of them.
dcfireman, nice shots! They look tough in the snow.
kinda weird to have the oldest truck in frontline service.....yet it we don't take care of things <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Satans Child, I take it you work on Truck 2?? Any chance of arranging something in the spring. I know that the streets are pretty busy around the station. I had T15 go to a park last year. You can send me a pm, or an email pshoop@hotmail.com
Thanks
Off the cuff...what is the ball park price of the typical DCFD spec wagon from the last purchase? Just the rig, no equipment.
Thanks in advance.

Shop serial S-175, delivered to E-18 in 2008, ran $460,511. S-176, E-26, was the same. I believe the bids included equipment.

Thanks for the pricing cost. I assume by the pricing difference, DCFD didn't buy equipment with the rigs in '06?
Any idea on the cost split between rig and equipment on the '08 rigs like E18? Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.
There are people with more specific info about the DC prices and what they came with, but I can tell you that the warranty DC got added to the cost.....and the price of steel went up considerably in 08 , my volly house speced out a wagon that is very comparable to the DC spec in the end of 07 beginning of 08 and by the time we finalized things we went with a Caterpillar motor as opposed to a Detroit due to the price of steel going up with the economy taking a dump. The volly pumper was $412k and some change (but only a 1 year warranty) and less than 6 months later someone tried to go with our specs and the price they were quoted was in the $480k - $490k range due to rising costs of things.
Good information. That is where I was headed with the idea to get a true "work" rig without all the bells and whistles...
And if we could keep the price in the $450K range trying to get 2... Thanks again.
